VALLE DE GUADALUPE – Forget the Javier Plascencia you think you know: the celebrity chef who appears on national network cooking shows; the restaurateur and heir to the family business who deals with the details of his high-profile Bracero Cocina de Raiz in San Diego; the auteur who tweezed his way to culinary fame with his modern Mexican Mision 19 in Tijuana.

On a warm October night in the Valle de Guadalupe, our region’s most celebrated chef was sweating over a hot grill inside of a smoke-filled Airstream trailer, working his ass off as a short order cook.   1. Scott I’m so Jealous, but over joyed by this news! I can’t wait to check this out. Javier is brilliant! Not sure if you remember me, we met at Deckmans & I have bright rainbow hair, I’m loud & obnoxious, I live in South O & I stood you up on your birthday. Sorry I have been out of the culinary activities. We have been slammed with work, & started a few more businesses/corps built another house, well almost, it will be finished in a week. Hope we can dine together soon. All my love to you & your family 💋🌈🍷
